How it works

  1. Step 1: Swipe your taste

Flick through a deck of dinners. Keep the ones you'd cook, pass on the rest, and it learns what you like.

  2. Step 2: Snap a receipt

Take or choose a photo of your receipt. Sapere reads the items, and you check them before they go in your pantry.

  3. Step 3: Your pantry fills itself

What you bought lands in your pantry, most of it with a rough guide to when it goes off. What's nearest is pulled into Use soon.

  4. Step 4: Get a week of dinners

Up to seven dinners built around what goes off first and what you like. Swap any you're not in the mood for.

  5. Step 5: One short shopping list

Whatever the week still needs goes on a single list you can edit, tick off and share.

What it keeps track of

  • What goes off first

Most food from your receipt gets a rough shelf life. Food within three days of going off is pulled into Use soon, and the week is planned around it.

  • The diet you set

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, halal or kosher: each dinner is checked against the diet you set, and any that fail the check are left out. The check goes by ingredient names, so it can miss things, and it can't tell how meat was prepared or what is inside a packet. Always check the label yourself, above all if you have an allergy.

  • One shopping list

Whatever the week still needs goes on a single list you can edit, tick off and share.

  • Dinners you can swap

Not in the mood for one? Swap it, and the rest of the week stays as it is.
